With the support of Department of Women and Child Development, Samajik Suvidha Sangam, Government of NCT of Delhi, organization running Gender Resource Center- Suvidha Kendra under plan scheme of ‘Bhagidari’ “New Initiative for Social Development”, for the Empowerment of Women at Mukund Pur, District North, Delhi. GRC-SK is one of the best programme designed for women empowerment various services like Vocational Training, Health Care, Nutritional Care, Legal Awareness, Non Formal Education, Self Help Groups Formation, Information cum Suvidha Kendra etc provided under one roof. Some of the main components of the programme are:-

Suvidha Kendra
With the introduction of suvidha kendra the role of the GRCs has been enhanced so that it becomes a truly robust instrument of community outreach thus, GRC became the first interface-'for the people of the community. The GRC-Suvidha Kendra has to look after the needs of the whole family, children, adolescents, youth, senior citizens, differently abled, etc. Besides women who are already covered under GRCs. This has a special emphasis on the most vulnerable people like homeless, women and children headed families, families involved in certain trades like rag pickers, sex workers, Individuals working at construction site etc. The activities being under taken by suvidha kendra are as follow:

- Awareness Creation of Schemes
- Identification & Enrollment
- Verification & Authentication
- Forwarding of proposals to DRC/Dept
- Processing
- Tracking, Feedback & Reporting
- Grievance Redresal
The Woman Empowerment Component is aimed at holistic development of the marginalized vulnerable women through interventions in the areas including Literacy, Health, Livelihood. Under a well structured programme, our GRC provide Non-Formal Education, Vocational Training and Skill Development, Health and Nutrition through camps and clinics and are also instilling virtues of thrift and micro credit through formation of Self-Help Groups (SHGs).
Skill Development/ Vocational Training
The need for giving emphasis on the Skill Development, especially for the less educated, poor and out of school youth has been highlighted in various forums. The skill level and educational attainment of the work force determines the productivity, income levels as well as the adaptability of the working class in changing environment.
We are running two vocational Trades under the Project-
- Beauty Culture
- Dress Designing & Making
Beauty Culture Training
Under GRC Project Beauty Culture Trade is the most popular trade among the women candidates we have total 50 no. in the trade & divided in 4 batch i. e. 12-13 trainees in each batch. Each course is for 6 months & trainees get evaluated by the Jan Shikshan Sansthan.
Dress Designing & Making Training
Dress Designing & Making is another need based trade under GRC in which 100 students successfully completed their courses during the year. Same as previous there are 12-13 beneficiaries in each batch & total are 50 in six months.
Formation and Strengthening of Self Help Group (SHG):
To develop the saving habits and make women self-dependent we are conducting community and group meetings for the formation of Self Help Groups. Total 31 no. of groups are formed by the society, each group having 12-15 members. Bank account also opened for SHGs in a nationalized bank. Inter-loaning & bank loan also provided for self employments of the beneficiaries.

Legal Counseling and Assistance:
Legal counseling and assistance is also provided to the women who are suffering from any kind of violence and extortion. A lady advocate cum counselor visited in the center twice in a week and conducted counseling sessions with the beneficiaries to overcome with their problems and also provide guidance.
Health Services:
Health Clinic set up in the center where we provide OPD, medicines, referral services and Health education to the beneficiaries. Dr. Pushpa Taneja (Specialized- Gynecologist) visited once in a week and provided their services to the beneficiaries more then 50-60 beneficiaries check-up per visit.
Health Camps:
We also organized health camp ones in a two month. Where a team of three doctors (Gynecologist, Pediatrician and General Physician) is provided their services to more then 200 beneficiaries per Camp. Health check up has done by the doctors & free medicines distributed in camp. In case of referral, doctor referred them in the hospital for further treatment. Apart of this Health camp are organized for various theme based activities like –Breast Cancer, Eye Camp, Cervical Cancer, STI/RTI, Dental etc.
Non-Formal Education:
We are providing non-formal education to the illiterate, drop out and adult women. We maintain three batches for 30 beneficiaries each batch. For NFE, Remedial, & Adult Education We follow course curriculum of State Resource Center.
Nutrition Demonstration Camp:
Every month, nutrition demonstration camp was organized to aware the women about nutrition and balanced diet. A dietician/nutritionist conducted session with them and providing information on nutrition and balanced diet.
WASH Programme:
our organization also organized various activities on water & sanitation. Awareness sessions, railees, training programe etc are organized on various days like world toilet day, world environment day, global hand washing day etc to aware people about the importance of Water & Sanitation.
Samajik Suvidha Sangam-Survey
Government of NCT of Delhi, Mission Convergence takes initiative to find out the actual socio-economic status of the poor peoples living in the slum & unauthorized area of the Delhi. With the support of SSS, GNCT Delhi we conducted Samajik Suvidha Sangam Survey in the area of Mukundpur. Through a dedicated team of Surveyors & Supervisor we cover many venerable families/households to collect their information & send it to the concerned authorities. During the year our organization worked for the Delhi Annshree Yojana & Swarna Jayanti Sahari Rojgar Yojana.
